A camera that reads the table.
Card Assistant is a mobile camera app for visually impaired people recognizing physical game elements. A quantized YOLOv8-nano runs on the device; spoken output comes from on-device text-to-speech. No round-trip to a server for the recognition path.
On-device path
YOLOv8-nano
A quantized detector aimed at game elements, run locally so latency stays on the phone.
Spoken output
On-device text-to-speech. Rank and suit, without needing a cell signal at the table.
Accessible chrome
High contrast, large targets, screen-reader labels, haptic cues. The point is playable cards, not a demo reel.
